India's national boxing contingent has commenced an intensive training camp in Patiala with a renewed emphasis on ring generalship, head movement, and defensive counter-punching. Under the direction of newly appointed technical coaches, pugilists across all weight classes are recalibrating their fighting styles to suit modern judging criteria.
Coaches noted that while Indian boxers have traditionally excelled in offensive flurries and hand speed, controlling distance and neutralizing counter-attacks will be vital for tournament progression. Morning sessions emphasize footwork drills and evasive pivots, while evening sparring tests tactical patience over three high-tempo rounds.
With world championship berths and qualification quotas at stake in upcoming tournaments, senior boxers and rising academy prospects alike are working to peak at the right moment. Medical staff have also integrated recovery protocols and physiological tracking to ensure optimal fight conditioning throughout the grueling selection cycle.
